The coast

City, beaches and where you actually board

A trip “from Pattaya” can start anywhere along this stretch of coast. Keep three things apart: where you stay, which beach you see, and the pier you board from.

Pattaya

A popular beach resort with water sports along its shore, hotels and restaurants close to the sea.

Jomtien and Na Jomtien

Jomtien Beach starts about 3 km south of Pattaya Beach and runs for roughly 6 km; Na Jomtien continues further south, on the edge of Pattaya. Jomtien is quieter than Pattaya Beach.

Islands offshore

Islands and bays lie a short way off the coast. Koh Larn (Ko Lan), about 7.5 km from Pattaya, is also served by scheduled public ferries, which are transport rather than a private trip.

Where you board

Marinas and piers along this coast are used by different operators. Your departure and return point is the one your operator confirms in writing, not the name of the town.

Choose a boat

Motor yacht, sailing catamaran or speedboat

A guide for choosing, not a list of GetnDrive boats. Which boats operate here, and on what terms, depends on the operator.

Motor yacht

A private day with shade, seats and room to move about on board, at an unhurried pace.

Choose it if:

  • your group wants comfort more than speed
  • you would like to plan swim stops with the captain
  • you prefer a private trip to a shared one

Ask the operator: how many guests it takes, who is in the crew, and whether fuel and drinks are included.

Sailing catamaran

Two hulls, a wide deck and a quieter day on the water for a group that wants to sit together.

Choose it if:

  • you like a slower, relaxed day
  • a group wants deck space to sit and swim from
  • you are flexible: sailing depends on the wind

Ask the operator: whether the boat will sail or motor, how many guests it takes and how much shade there is on deck.

Speedboat

A fast, open boat for short hops along the coast or out to an island, with less time spent getting there.

Choose it if:

  • you want to reach an island quickly
  • a short trip suits you better than a full day
  • everyone is fine with a faster, bumpier ride

Ask the operator: the route and stops, a seat and a life jacket for everyone, and what happens if the sea is rough.

Boarding

Confirm the place and the time before you pay

The picture shows a typical floating pontoon, not a particular marina. For your own trip, ask for:

Illustration: passengers stepping from a floating pontoon onto a small motorboat at sunset
  • The marina or pier — its exact name, a street address or map pin, and which entrance to use.
  • Arrival time — how early to come and who meets you there.
  • How you step on board — a pontoon, steps or a ladder, and help for children or anyone with limited mobility.
  • Return point — whether the boat brings you back to the same place.

Frequently asked questions

Can I book a boat in Pattaya through GetnDrive now?

No. GetnDrive boat offers for Pattaya and Na Jomtien are not connected yet, so there is no vessel catalog, price list, calendar or booking on this page.

Which boat should I choose?

For comfort and a private day, a motor yacht. For a relaxed group day with deck space, a sailing catamaran. For a quick hop to an island or along the coast, a speedboat. Then check with the operator what the trip actually includes.

Where do boat trips start?

From marinas and piers along the coast of Pattaya, Jomtien and Na Jomtien, but each operator uses its own. Ask for the exact name, address, arrival time and return point before you pay.

Is Na Jomtien the same as Pattaya?

Na Jomtien lies on the southern edge of Pattaya, south of Jomtien Beach. For a boat trip, what matters is the exact marina or pier your operator names, not the district.

Can a trip include islands?

Islands and bays lie a short way off the coast, and Koh Larn is about 7.5 km from Pattaya. Whether your trip stops at an island, which one and for how long depends on the operator, the boat and the sea that day.

Does the weather matter?

Yes. Rain and storms are most likely in the rainy season, roughly mid-May to mid-October, and the sea can change during any day. Ask who decides whether the trip goes ahead and how rescheduling or a refund works.

Are boat trips suitable for children?

Often, but rules differ. Ask from what age children are welcome, whether there are child-size life jackets and how they board and sit during the trip.

What is usually included in the price?

It varies: crew, fuel, food and drinks, snorkelling gear, fees and a transfer may or may not be included. Ask for a written list of what is included and what is paid separately.

Can I drive a boat myself?

If you want to drive a boat yourself, ask the operator about its conditions first and check the applicable local requirements, including whether a licence is needed.

How can a boat operator join GetnDrive?

Open the partner application, select “Yachts” or “Boats” and tell us about your company, boats and where your trips start. Listing offers on GetnDrive requires a separate review.
